In the News & Updates section of our blog, you'll find updates on many of the latest STEM developments. These include happenings from the STEM and MakerEd worlds as well as important Eduporium announcements. This is where we'll share updates on product additions, announce the recipients of our monthly educational technology grant, pass on company news, highlight upcoming events, and discuss a whole lot more when it comes to cool topics in STEM education. Beyond our STEAM coverage, we also touch on various elements of 21st century learning. These include remote instruction, special education, social-emotional learning, and equity and diversity. If it's happening in the world of education, we're interested. And, we'll offer our analysis on what's affecting students, teachers, and administrators, attaching our genuine thoughts to keep you updated.
This is an area for us to keep a repository of recent happenings. Whether it's the release of a new type of technology, any additions to an EdTech product line, the arrival of new brands to our store, or some thoughts on the current state of education, there's a good chance you'll find it here. As time has gone on, we've participated in more STEAM and makerspace events. So, we've started to keep curated collections of those experiences. You can find them all throughout the News & Updates category. As Eduporium continues to expand and we get to participate in more STEM education projects with educators in some of the country's biggest school districts, we'll share those stories, too. We hope our collective accomplishments and partnerships with members of the K–12 community inspire others to innovate in new ways!
With such a powerful printer available, some might think that LulzBot would be expensive, but it’s really not, especially compared to some other 3D printers that educators use at both the K-12 and college level. Coming in at $1,500 before the application of our Educator Discount, the Mini 2 offers a ton of value for its pretty low price point!
Our team of innovators has created a one-stop online store for teachers to research and purchase the STEM and MakerEd technologies that will work best in their classrooms. By providing almost any EdTech tool a teacher might need in one place, we have come to think of ourselves as the ‘Amazon of EdTech.’
Back in 2016, flood waters destroyed much of their school’s Louisiana campus and they were forced to start over in a number of ways. After feeling tons of support from their community, however, the students of LPPS came together under the leadership of Nikki Lavergne to redesign their learning experiences and redesign their futures.
This organization was derived from one of the oldest and most prominent organizations for children in the country. We first partnered with them two years ago and, after working together for one year, were asked to return for a second year and provide twice as much content and STEM kits for the students involved around the country.
The Vive Pro leverages enhanced audio and incredible optics to deliver superior STEM instruction with a constantly growing library of VR content. It’s set to revolutionize the way you teach in the 21st century! Now, it’s a part of our store as well, joining other big names in educational VR solutions.
You know us. No project is too big for our team. We’re in the process of discovering just how true this is and how far this kind of attitude can take us. Recently, we teamed up with a midwestern chapter of the Boys & Girls Club to help them secure STEM tools for launching a brand-new makerspace this coming fall.
Collaboration and coding…two of the most critical skills for students to develop and two of the most crucial challenges teachers face when building curricula. But, don’t worry, there’s an app for that. And a robot. And a few fully stocked classroom kits. Using the Ozobot Bit or Evo Classroom Kits, educators can empower up to 36 students to code.
In June, we announced a new educational technology grant program that awards $500 of STEM tools to one recipient every month. Our selection committee met last week and awarded the first grant to Melinda Pastuszak, a teacher at Chamberlayne Elementary School in Henrico, Va. Mindy is in the process of planning the launch of a new STEAM program!
We’ve been pretty big fans of XYZ 3D printers since they first launched a few years back. The list included (and still does feature) da Vinci printers, the tall and skinny Nobel, and even a MiniMaker for younger students to take a crack at 3D printing. Their latest addition, however, might just be the best yet. Click to learn more
Inventing things is a great way for children to blossom into STEAM superstars. Never running out of things to invent is a whole different experience. The littleBits Pro Library is new and improved, providing creative students with enough parts to design intricate inventions or colossal creations.
