In the News & Updates section of our blog, you'll find updates on many of the latest STEM developments. These include happenings from the STEM and MakerEd worlds as well as important Eduporium announcements. This is where we'll share updates on product additions, announce the recipients of our monthly educational technology grant, pass on company news, highlight upcoming events, and discuss a whole lot more when it comes to cool topics in STEM education. Beyond our STEAM coverage, we also touch on various elements of 21st century learning. These include remote instruction, special education, social-emotional learning, and equity and diversity. If it's happening in the world of education, we're interested. And, we'll offer our analysis on what's affecting students, teachers, and administrators, attaching our genuine thoughts to keep you updated.
This is an area for us to keep a repository of recent happenings. As time has gone on, we've participated in more STEAM and makerspace events. So, we've started to keep curated collections of those experiences. As Eduporium continues to expand and we get to participate in more STEM education projects with educators in some of the country's biggest school districts, we'll share those stories, too. We hope our collective accomplishments and partnerships with members of the K–12 community inspire others to innovate in new ways!
Among the newest STEM tools added to our store is the Airblock drone from Makeblock, an exceptional way for students to explore aviation and dive into long-lasting innovation. They don’t even need any prior coding experience to learn with Airblock—just an eye for exploration and the desire to take charge of their learning!
There’s robotics kits designed for classroom use and then there are the ROBOTIS robotics kits, which are designed for serious learning. What makes them different? In our first year of attending the ISTE Conference last summer, we learned a lot about this event, its attendees, the atmosphere, and what it takes to have a successful trip. The Sphero Mini is exceptional at introducing students to topics like physics, problem solving, creativity, collaboration, and coding. Unlike other robots, however, the Sphero Mini is completely round. This allows it to roll around—sometimes pretty quickly—and enables kids to control both its movements and speed with code.
This cool looking car—the GoPiGo Robot from Dexter Industries—is a great tool for helping students advance their coding skills. It’s buildable, so they get the engineering aspect of STEM education and, once they have it built, it’s programmable over a simple Wi-Fi connection! The single GoPiGo kits are great for children at home, at school, or in a camp.
Most of the time, the best part of hands-on learning is the collaboration that comes with it. Thanks to the classroom packs recently added by Wonder Workshop, that remains the case.
