We now have so many unique teaching styles and strategies for effectively communicating curricular content to your kids, including teacher-centered, student-centered, self-paced, competency-based, and even inquiry-based models among others. Then, there is culturally responsive teaching, which involves shifting instruction and language for kids from different cultures.

Representation in STEAM fields remains invaluable, especially considering that lack of visibility among AAPI individuals. For this AAPI Heritage Month, we’re excited to recognize major accomplishments of these STEM leaders, who have made great strides in areas like computer science, public health, treating illness, or tracking storms all while continuing to improve our lives.

Whether it is recovering from remote learning setbacks, addressing gaps in technology access, or focusing on SEL recovery, things got really tough on many students. Plus, since not all students in all geographical areas and of all socioeconomic backgrounds have access to all the same opportunities, it’s easy to understand that certain achievement gaps will persist.

It’s Women’s History Month, and to celebrate, we’ll be highlighting some of the most significant historical accomplishments female STEM leaders have made. Recognizing the contributions of these women is an inspiration both to educators and future women in STEM. Ultimately, however, there truly are a long list of positives associated with interscholastic esports, like students building career skills, becoming part of a community, and fostering new relationships with peers.

At Eduporium, we take pride in being one of few technology companies to have a Black CEO. So, to kick off Black History Month, we are highlighting some of the most crucial accomplishments that Black STEM leaders have made throughout history. These innovators have shaped our technologies to this day and continue to inspire students to follow their dreams.

Whether it’s within today’s business world, the tech world, the educational world, or in the STEAM world, celebrating diversity and inclusion should be the norm. If we have collectively learned anything within the last handful of years, however, it’s that this isn’t universal. In our contemporary STEM and tech jobs, particularly, we still lack true racial, gender, and ethnic diversity.

Diversity efforts should be created and spread with intent in order to elevate the thoughts, talents, experiences, and opinions of all. As we try to overcome a lack of diversity in the STEM community, we’re continuing to promote its importance across industries, help others discover new points of view, and educate ourselves on causes and possible solutions.

Eduporium, a STEM education reseller and start-up in Newton, MA, has received capital from The Boston Foundation. Since applying for the funding about 18 months ago, the final pieces have been put in place to provide the company with additional capital after working with two advisers for a year-long period as part of the Business Equity Initiative.

It’s that time of the month again—time to reveal the recipient of our $500 EdTech grant! To close out the first calendar year of our grant program, which has been tremendously successful in our eyes, we’ve decided to give December’s award to Mary Ledford, a librarian from Harvest Elementary School in Saline, Michigan.
