PBL units can be incorporated into just about any subject. Students can take part in projects, design simulations, and work together to better their school community or actual community. As plans for the 2021-22 school year are developed this summer, PBL could be a top strategy for ensuring access to game-changing learning opportunities.

As of June 30, 2021, you will no longer be able to download or access the Google Expeditions mobile app. This means using Google Expeditions the way you have in the classroom will no longer be possible.

This month, we hear from Andrew McDonald, who’s an educational consultant and faculty member of the Engineering Secondary School at the University of Ottawa and, like so many other educators around the world, he’s had to get creative over the last year.

In the remote learning era, however, providing students with actionable feedback has become tougher. That’s how mote can help. A simple Chrome extension, mote empowers teachers to provide students with personalized feedback and save themselves a ton of time in the process. So, why is mote so efficient and great for 21st century education.

Flipping the classroom helps students move more at their own pace—only taking the time they need to learn something. It also helps them utilize their teachers or peers for help while they’re engaged in their work as opposed to putting it down, forgetting about it, and then asking the next day. But, how could flipped learning help in remote settings?

This month, we hear from Anna Blake, who’s an elementary school technology integration specialist in the Elizabeth Forward School District (PA). Among some of the projects she’s helped lead with her students include combining coding and drones using Swift and challenging students to create programs to pilot their drones!

As education continues to be delivered at least partly outside of the classroom, different types of distance learning continue to be explored. So, whether you’re teaching fully remotely, in a hybrid model, live with students all the time, or trying out asynchronous learning, we’ll share some suggestions for how it could be improved.

Vanessa has found creative ways to leverage various types of technology in her instruction when working with college students and certainly found that providing students with these hands-on experiences has helped them develop real-world skills through their experiences. Read on to find out more of what’s worked for her!

This month, we’ve heard from Jeremy Osborne, who’s the Innovative Learning Coordinator for the Berkeley County School District. With a background as an elementary STEM teacher, Jeremy knows all about the kinds of hands-on learning experiences kids want and need and he’s now very much involved in ensuring all students have access to those.
