The power of this Hummingbird system lies in its flexibility—the same parts help students animate a poem, model the human arm, build an autonomous rover, or create a pinball machine. The Hummingbird Bit is designed to grow with kids (and adults) who may start out as absolute beginners, and to allow them to go deeper into STEAM in many different ways—whether by creating beautiful electronic art projects, intricate cardboard mechatronics, or cleverly programmed robotic behaviors.
What's in the Box:
The Hummingbird Bit is the latest generation of the Hummingbird Kit with some brand new features—most notably the addition of the micro:bit V2! The controller connects directly to the micro:bit and is outfitted with LED, servo, sensor, and extension ports as well as a buzzer. Students can control input distance, light, dial, and sound sensors and output LEDs and servos.
Whether its icon-based programs, coding in MakeCode, or one of the text-based languages, the Hummingbird Bit helps kids design programmable sculptures.
